It’s a buyers market for dang sure, except nobodies buying. The current conditions of the economy and warm winter months are devastating for an HVAC company.

We’ve done 2 install jobs in the passed month, both of those from repeat loyal customers, thank goodness for those… The current favorable buyers conditions will NOT continue through the Summer months. That’s when so many home owners discover that the proverbial gig is up, your day is over. Now suffering in 105/degree heat waiting out long lead times for a new Hvac system to be installed which is now costing $2,000-$3,000 more than today’s prices.

OBSEVATIONAL: Many home-owners believe that we’re over-charging for our services during the Summer months. The fact is that we get ONE Shot for the season with many months of surrounding over-head costs where we are loosing money, now with one short season to make it up, uh-ya, I suppose we could all agree that prices are going to be outrageous during June & July. Fact is More air conditioners will fail during June & July than all of the other 10 months combined, strange? NOT!

Long Story Short, One of my biggest fears and most uncomfortable predicaments in business, is when friends or family call me during June & July with an air conditioning problem. It’s sometimes difficult for consumers, (friends or family alike) to understand that we’re working 90/work weeks, we’re tired, haggard, burnt and beat. We got one shot during the short two months of June & July to actually turn a profit for the 12/month term… I tell all my friends & family, all consumers alike, if you think we’re stepping away from a premium paying job to do someone a charitable favor during June or July, well I only have one conclusion to fathom, That IS, They’d Be Smoking Stepped ON Crack With Their Thinking Wont They!

CASE IN POINT- A few years ago I began warning my brother and sister in-law about their 20/year old heating & cooling system. It was a solid advisory and generous proposal on my part offering them a FREE installation if they would purchase the equipment at my wholesale price and allow me to install it, (all labor provided free), my objectives were that I didn’t want to charge my own brother and family the outrageous prices that will be mandated during the mentioned most important months of June & July. I would rather install a system offering labor for FREE during a slow idle month than I’d ever prefer charging my own family and authentic good friends outrageous sums of money during June & July.

The Choice Is Yours, Call me now or call me later, call me on a holiday or call me any day. Don’t call me on the frightful scorching day of eternal flaming misery, NO NOT when its 100/degrees outside, not unless you’re ready for some price gouging, You wouldn’t expect anything different during these months would you!

Thankfully my brother and sister in-law took our advice securing themselves one heck of a deal (all labor free), all they had to do was pay for the product and I installed it for them at no further cost during an idle convenient time for the company… To Be fair and honest, we cant do the same thing for you as I did for my own favored family, however I can do you much better today than I could or would ever do during the later months. I can discount today marginally instead of putting prices through the roof later (i.e. the ole employee discount), except that everybody gets the discount, not just friends, family and employees.

The only people who don’t qualify for the best prices are the unfortunate late-comers. Prices go through the roof (+ $2,500 or more) during June & July, worse you’re going to be suffering through 3 weeks of lead time in 100/degree heat, the work is racy, hasty, never as clean or professional, how could it be when we’re working 90/hours weekly for two months straight, Don’t Do That!
